Below is a brief history of the company.

Educational Field Equipment started trading in 1974 and developed into the two arms of Training and Supplies in 1997.

We standardized the quadrat and produced the first grid quadrat in 1975. Point frames on the tripod system followed and the first flow meter was registered for patent in 1978 using an infra red beam as the count mechanism.

The company is based in Cornwall by a moorland streammand on the Fowey estuary where all equipment can be field tested. Having been involved with field centres for 32 years, all equipment has to pass a durability and quality test before being released.  If we can not produce it cheaper, or better, then there is no point in us selling the equipment!  Please therefore carefully check that the specification for the equipment is what you require.

Our aim is to continually develop the products with yours and our experience - combined. interactive development!

Most sales are direct reducing the cost of advertising and distribution.

GB Nets became a part of Educational Field Equipment in November 2000 and moved south to Cornwall to the joint premises.

GB Nets as part of EFE- UK Ltd. offers a standard range of water sampling equipment suited to the needs of today's biologist in the water industry and all levels of education. The equipment is designed from practical experience in the field, and is sturdy enough to withstand continuous use by students and professional workers. Whenever applicable, the equipment conforms to current Environment Agency specifications.

We manufacture electronics and meters in Cornwall from the original Mill and since November 2004 most other equipment from two industrial units in Lostwithiel, Cornwall.  There is also a net frame manufacturing base in Hebden Bridge near Rochdale..
